Honor the Vision: Justice for All
Catholic Advocacy Day - 2006
DATE: February 23, 2006
TIME: 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
PLACE: State Capitol (Columbia Room), Olympia WA
DRESS: Wear RED to make yourselves more visible as a group while visiting legislators
Join us for Catholic Advocacy Day, a time for Catholics to gather in Olympia to “lobby” our legislators on current legislative issues of concern for all of us. Join Catholics from around the state to advocate for “Justice for All.” Don’t miss this opportunity to ensure that the Gospel message to care for our brothers and sisters is heard loud and clear in Olympia.
Before meeting with our local legislators, we will meet in the Columbia Room in the State Capitol building, and be joined by Bishop Eusebio Elizondo, M.Sp.S., Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Seattle, for prayer, a program, and a legislative briefing. We will address current legislative issues dealing with matters of health care, low-income housing, child care and poverty. The Governor has accepted our invitation to speak.
Sign up now to participate! Send your name, address, phone number, email address and legislative district information to ocff@seattlearch.org. Appointments with your legislators will be made for you after you have registered. The schedule of legislative visits will be given to you during the morning on Catholic Advocacy Day.
