On October 13, 2007, the Diocese of Yakima hosted the John Paul II Conference: Celebrating the Ministry and Teaching of John Paul II.  Sister Sharon Park, Executive Director of the Washington State Catholic Conference, gave a presentation on Pope John Paul II’s teaching on the struggle for justice. 

For over a century, popes have articulated and reflected upon Catholic Social Teachings from their historical perspectives.  In the workshop, John Paul II’s writings were examined as the Pope invited all Catholics to look around at the new things which surround us, and to look to the future as we journey together seeking justice and the common good.
